About Andrenam
We are building sonar and sensing systems that bring light to the last dark domain: the ocean. Our team includes alumni from SpaceX, Anduril, ABL, Palantir and Qualia. We build full-stack — from physics to perception to product — with speed, elegance, and an unwavering commitment to the mission.
About This Role
Andrenam is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join our software team and help build the platform that brings our ocean data to life. Our main engineering challenge is a real-time data platform that ingests, processes, stores, and displays data from our sensors in the field.
You won't be sitting on the sidelines. You'll take on a real, scoped project that supports our core platform, work directly alongside the engineers who build it, and get regular feedback and mentorship as you go.
What You'll Do
- Build and ship software features across our stack, with guidance from the team.
- Own a scoped project tied to the team's priorities.
- Participate in code reviews and follow team practices for testing and version control.
- Work with hardware and autonomy engineers to connect software with deployed systems.
- Help build tools that speed up testing and development.
- Troubleshoot issues and work with the team to understand root cause and fixes.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Programming experience in Python, TypeScript, Go, Java, C++ or a related language.
- Software experience through coursework, personal projects, or student engineering teams.
- Strong problem-solving instincts and willingness to dig into unfamiliar problems.
- Clear communication and a track record of working well with others.
Nice to Have
- Experience with React, Angular, Vue, or related technologies.
- Experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL).
- Experience with message queues/brokers (Kafka, Redis, MQTT).
- Experience with containerization and cloud technologies.
- Interest in maritime systems, autonomy, or defense technology.
Compensation: $30-$40/hr plus benefits (medical, vision, dental, 401k).
Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
